Warm Up by the Stove

The Mystic Maine Baking Company was inspired by a wood cookstove called The Mystic Maine — the ever-present, glowing heart of my childhood home in rural Maine.

My earliest food memories are of my mom pulling her granola out of the oven — and the aromas of cinnamon, honey, and toasty goodness. Those moments felt like being wrapped in her arms and held in the most ordinary, powerful way

As I raised my own family, I kept coming back to those moments and moved to recreate them in my own kitchen through food that felt comforting, delicious, and fun.

As my children grew and dietary needs changed, my ingredients became more deliberate — thoughtfully sourced, gluten-free, and Alpha-gal safe — my eye always on the balance of texture, flavor, and always all natural.

Today, every small batch from The Mystic Maine Baking Company carries a little of that old farmhouse kitchen with it, inviting everyone in — whether you just love good food or you’re someone who reads ingredient labels more closely.

For me, it’s always been about making thoughtful treats that spark joy, feel really good to eat, and are exciting to share!

My earliest food memories are of my mom pulling her granola out of the oven with the smell of the crackling fire, and toasty cinnamony oats in the air. Those moments held me – in the most ordinary and powerful way.

As I raised my own family, I kept reaching for that vibe in my own kitchen through meals and treats that felt grounding and scrumptious.

As we grew and our dietary needs changed, my focus became more deliberate – to source thoughtfully, to eliminate gluten and be Alpha-gal safe – but always with my eye on the balance of texture, flavor, and joy.

Today, every bite holds a little of that old Mystic Maine warmth and invites everyone to the table – whether you just love good food, or you need to read ingredient labels more closely.
